On the verge of making his Bollywood debut in the Dharma Productions film Sarzameen is Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh and the brother of Sara Ali Khan.
Boman Irani’s son, Kayoz Irani, is directing an action thriller themed on terrorism in Kashmir, with Kajol and Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran in the key roles. It has just been reported that the 22-year-old Jr. Nawab of Bollywood has already signed on for his second film, well in advance of the release of his first film in theaters next year.
According to industry insiders, this will be Ibrahim Ali Khan’s second collaboration with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. In Kunal Deshmukh’s upcoming love drama, which he is working on now and planning to call “Diler,” the young actor will play the lead role.
The script was a hit with Ibrahim Ali Khan, and he agreed to it right away. It’s a well-rounded and skillfully written love story that promises an emotional and musical journey. We’re at the home stretch of our discussion with Ibrahim; he’ll be signing soon. An insider in the film industry informed us, “Ibrahim’s transition from thriller to romance demonstrates his versatility as an emerging performer.” However, the main female has not yet been cast.
The Dinesh Vijan film will begin principal photography in London in December 2023. Ibrahim will wrap up filming his first feature film, Sarzameen, which began in February but has some remaining scenes to shoot, before beginning this next adventure.
Ibrahim is rumored to play a terrorist in the Dharma Productions film, while Kajol and Prithviraj portray a married couple. This is also Karan Johar and Kajol’s first film together in a professional capacity in over a decade.
Maddock Films is working on a wide variety of film projects at the moment. The slate includes Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s untitled robotic rom-com, Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, Sara Ali Khan’s Murder Mubarak, Sunny Kaushal and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Shiddat 2, Vikrant Massey’s Sector 36, Nimrat Kaur and Radhika Madan’s Happy Teachers Day, Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi’s Pooja Meri Jaan, and Vaani Kapoor’s Sarvagunn Sampann, among others.
Stree 2, Bhediya 2, Munjya, and Vampires of Vijay Nagar are just four of the films that make up their Horror-Comedy Cinematic Universe. As we reported last month, Dinesh Vijan and Parineeti Chopra are working together on a musical filming in the UK.
